CAMP PICNIC, OCTOBER 1990
PICACHO PEAK STATE PARK, PICACHO, ARIZONA
Held at Picacho Peak State Park, site of Arizona's only War Between the States battle, this was the Camp's first successful event. A large crowd of over 30 people attended this fun-filled afternoon, consisting of SCV members, friends and family.
FOOD AND GOOD FUN
The picnic was a "dutch treat" affair, with everyone bringing their own lunches to the event. This picture shows some of the attendees having good food and good fun together at the picnic.

CONFEDERATE MEMORIAL DAY
EVERGREEN AND HOLY HOPE CEMETERIES, TUCSON, ARIZONA, 26 APRIL 1991
The Colonel Sherod Hunter Camp 1525 also travelled to Tucson, Arizona to attend the Confederate Memorial Day ceremony hosted by the John R. Baylor Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, at Evergreen and Holy Hope Cemeteries. The ceremony annually honours William S. Oury and Private Daniel Spires.
AT THE GRAVE OF WILLIAM S. OURY
The attendees are pictured around the grave of William S. Oury, who was not a Confederate soldier, but was a noted Tucson secessionist and one of the founding fathers of the Confederate Territory of Arizona. Commander Perkins of Camp 1525 attended representing the Camp and the SCV at the event.
GRAVE OF PRIVATE DANIEL SPIRES
After the ceremony honouring Oury, who is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, the attendees adjourned to the grave of Private Daniel Spires, at Holy Hope Cemetery (which is adjacent to Evergreen Cemetery). Unfortunately, Private Spires is buried in a tree-covered area and it was very dark...so this is the only picture from the ceremony at his grave which turned out!
